That was like reading ten short stories. I want to know more about all of the different characters (except maybe the red carpet lady since I don’t think I’d like her!). Look forward to reading more!

And the celebrity wasn’t meant to be a likable character exactly, more to be pitied for what she values in life but I was afraid of making each character’s story /too/ long *you’ll notice that towards the end, each snippet gets a little bit longer* so I’m afraid that plan was cut short. Hey, is anyone else doing a connected collection of story a day stories? I did it last year and it was an incredibly challenging project. I’m doing the same thing this year, but with a different topic.

I am. All my stories will be related to the theme ‘Cuba’ in some way. At least, that’s the plan. I expect it will start to get hard mid-way. My goal is to see if among these short stories I can create a nugget that will be worthy of growing into a full novel. My theme was death. I wrote stories that had something to do with death (either personified, or the simple fact of nature. Some of them became far more metaphorical in nature than the simple idea of death.

I visited Cuba for the first time in March and was taken by the people, the history, and particularly, all the contradictions in the culture.
