For the last three days I have been all about flash fiction of the 100 words or less variety!

I’ve got a new short-short posted up on my SaD blog, Old Voices, New Tales. I’d put the link in here but not sure how to.

    Let’s give this a try – http://storyaday.org/ifwordswere/

For some reason, it comes up under last year’s blog title, ”If Words Were”. I don’t know how to change that.

I’m slightly obsessed with drabbles (100 word stories) to get my creativity started. It’s great when I’m beating myself up about not writing because it doesn’t take much time but makes me feel better. Anybody else into drabbles?

I love Drabbles, for all the reasons you cite. For a while I was writing at http://100words.net (which was not specifically fiction, but you were supposed to write every day) and I found the 100 word length really compelling. Just long enough to craft something, not too long to be intimidating.

I have never heard of drabbles, but I love the concept. I am trying to keep my stories somewhere near 300 words, definitely under 500. Perhaps I need to try drabbling. What a grand idea!

300 – 500 words is the same range I’m following right now. I plan to bundle several with the same topic to post. Some will fall into erotica, others romance, and maybe a few non-fiction.

I look forward to reading them! And here is my drabble storyaday post, if anyone is interested.

I hope this link works. I just started the blog today so I could share the May Shorts. So far I posted two but I may add more later.

This month, I’m experimenting with short-shorts, under ten sentences.

Ohhhh… how cool. Funny, I Have never paid attention to my sentence count, only my word count. Perhaps its time to change?

I was so intrigued, I took a prompt I found on Writing Prompts and wrote… ten sentences!

I think the shortest story I have written is 100 words. I’m not on twitter- but it would be difficult to do a twitter story- only going by characters.

    • Profile picture of Shark
      Shark replied 2 years ago

I actually don’t use Twitter myself, just thought it would be fun to try writing such a short story. It is very difficult to keep to the right number of characters… Took me ten minutes to write those few words.
