How would you feel about hanging out with me and Anne Lamott next month?

OK, ‘hanging with Annie’ might be overstating it, but she, Cheryl Strayed, Marlon James and more are on the faculty of this year’s Writers Rising retreat organized by Lamott and her team.

The Writers Rising retreat is a special chance to take a break from the ordinary and step into a magical weekend of immersive workshops that focus on process, craft, and publication.

The event runs from October 25-27th, in Hollywood. Hundreds of writers from around the world will gather together to focus on their craft, all while being taught by the greatest writing teachers in the world.

There are two ways to participate: live in LA, or virtually.

Me? I’m going to LA.

Like many of you, I read “Bird by Bird” at a pivotal point in my writing process and I don’t know how many more chances I’ll be offered to be in the same room as Anne Lamott.

I could wait another year, but what if she’s not doing this next year? This is an opportunity I don’t want to miss.
