Start Collecting Story Sparks

StoryADay participant Badge

Writing a story a day for a month is exhilarating…and a little exhausting.

That’s why I send you writing prompts, but the prompt is just the start.

You have to take that idea and develop it into something that interests YOU, and hat can be hard to do every day, when you’re in a time-crunch.

So let’s do some prep this month.

  1. Reading this on 4/8/2026 inspired me to check the NOTES section of my phone. I knew I had recorded some sparks and was absolutely stunned that there are over 50 of them spanning back to 2022 (some viable, others not as much). My writing practice has absolutely benefitted from StoryaDay. I love it!

    1. Love that!
(So often I forget I’ve already done some of the work. It’s a frustration and a delight when I discover it!)

    2. Melanie,
Same, bucket loads on a backlog, heaps of little snippets lying around. I’ve not done Story-a-day since 2024 and am looking forward to giving it a crack again this year.
      Andrew
