The Prompt
The banging on the cabin’s door is incessant. Your character throws the soufflé into the oven and rushes to open the door. No one is there, but on the floor, they see three antique brass keys and a Tarot card (JUSTICE, MAIDEN OF CUPS, or any other card). Write what happens next.

Have been trying to catch up for the last 27 days! Posting my sketches because I basically made it! hehe! Woohoo!
Day 22! https://xenocandela.wordpress.com/2021/05/22/chest-and-keys/
Today’s story is called THE CALL. The main character ends up being a witch who’s been called for the first time in a hundred years. I’d say that this story is more of a prologue to something amazing that’s about to happen. The story raises more questions than it answers. I will probably circle back to it at some point in the future.
I loved this prompt and my imagination was really fired up! I wrote a rough draft of a short story of 2300 words! I can’t wait to get back to it in June.
Brilliant, many thanks. 🙏
I started a story– didn’t finish. Too much household drama (three boys– yes, there’s plenty of drama!). Feeling seriously burnt out right now, and I can’t even make writing work… argh.
Lots of resonance in this prompt for me today.
