Hello everyone!
In June JUNE, I completed reading and taking notes on Mary Karr’s book on Memoir. I’ve been generating ideas and pertinent elements for acts 2 and 3 of the play. No draft in sight on act 3 yet.
July (how did it get to be July 0f 2022 is what I wonder!)
Linked in Profile – just get it done I’m telling myself.
Complete the next edit of act 2 – all the feedback is in
Keep celebrating my accomplishments along the way — day after day!!!
Hi everyone, cool goals, I wish you all well in the pursuit of them.
I dropped the ball in June in both time spent writing and, even more detrimental to my process, I fell into an old ingrained habit of proofing as I go rather than just writing the draft and letting it sit for a bit.
So, for the rest of July, I am trying a write every day approach where I’ll set a timer for thirty minutes and write. I’ll be diving into some longer story ideas, but also, since it is a joy to finish, strive to finish one shorter story (whether 100 words or 1000+ or longer) so that I can practice the art of finishing.
Happy July!
Well. June was a bit of a bust, as I finally caught COVID for the last two weeks of it. Therefore, none of the projects I wanted to get done did get done. Ah, bon. Such is life.
This month’s goals, by due date:
~UF: July 9th
~JM 1: August 7
~JM 2: August 7
~BDX: August 8
~AUX: August 27
Lots to do, some time to do it in, although I need to get my tush in gear for this one due next weekend. Hopefully, I won’t have to drop out of that.
My Goals for July –
Declutter my writing desk
Turn in article and pix for local magazine
Finish second essay for my collection
Write a third essay for my collection
Write three long letters to my daughter in CA
My goal is to work on editing several short stories and by month’s end have submitted 5-6 pieces at the very least.
My goal for July is to finish my book that I have been working on since
I Joined story a day. Sadly I have been Busy With My farm And trying to find a job.
Good luck with the job search. And remember: writing is not a race. Do what you can!
Thank you julie
Mine is writing 50,000 total of 5000 word each short stories
My “official goal” is 30,000. 15 short stories (?) drafts, they’re short pieces of erotic that don’t really have much plot.
The “unofficial goal” is draft a couple of chapters for my longer works. There’s not real word count goal for those.
